This scrapbook was created by Elizabeth Borden in 1927, when she was 14 years old, to document and commemorate a trip she took to California with her mother to see her grandmother Holden. She took the train through Canada and visited many spots such as Lake Louise, Vancouver, San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Chicago and Washington, DC. Scope and Contents
This album contains photographs from the late 1800s of the families of William Freeman Myrick Goss and Hannah Elizabeth Chapman Marcy. The earliest photograph is dated 1872, but several tintypes or daguerrotypes may have been taken earlier. Last names of people included in the album are (in order of appearance): Gaston, Marcy, Atkinson, Burgess, Ingham, Sawyer, Clink, Chapman, Goss, Barlow, Cooper, Scudder, Clark, Pratt, and Atkins.
