Scope and Contents This collection consists of six scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings and ephemera about the El Paseo complex of buildings and shops (also known as Streets of Spain), including El Paseo Restaurant (also known as Restaurante del Paseo) and the El Presidio building across the street. Three archives boxes containing thirty years of weekly local history columns written by Mrs. Rouse for the Santa Barbara News-Press newspaper, approximately 1,500 articles. A fourth archives box contains indexes to the columns, autobiographical notes, a selection of columns on the Riviera district where Mrs. Rouse lived, and working notes and drafts of columns.

The Presidio Neighborhood Photograph Collection contains images gathered by the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation during research and activities conducted in support of the reconstruction of the Santa Barbara Presidio.

The collection contains a wide variety of image formats taken by many photographers over the course of than 150 years.
