(2 pages, photograph); Letter to Messieurs Page, Bacon and Co., Marysville, December 1, 1851 requesting that Page, Bacon and Co., bankers with houses in San Francisco, St. Louis, and New York consider opening up a branch in Marysville to serve the local citizens as well as miners who come to Marysville to sell gold dust and send money home to their families. They recommend William C. Lathan from Berkeley as a possible agent. Letter signed by about 12 people.
