Filipino American Friendship Day Correspondences and Ephemera, 1950 - 1999, bulk: 1950 - 1965

This collection contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, photos, banquet programs, meeting minutes and ephemera related to the Fuentes Family and the role of Jose Fuentes in establishing the Santa Barbara Filipino Community Association. The letters consist of correspondence between the association and its members, Santa Barbara News-Press, and US government officials. The newspaper clipping gives recognition to the Filipino Community Association. The photo album itself is made of brown hard cardboard with a string binding. Most of the photographic prints both in the album and loose are unlabeled/unidentified and undated, but are most likely photographs of family members, friends, and association members. The banquet programs are from the association’s annual banquets. The association documents contain information regarding the history of the association, as well as a membership application. There are also two meeting minutes from their first and sixth meetings.
