Certified, traced copy of lease for Mission Santa Barbara and certified traced copy of grant to Mission Santa Barbara , April - June 1846
Scope and Contents
2 sets of documents bound together and certified by the Office of the Surveyor General. The documents are in Spanish with English translations. Set one is a traced copy of the lease of Mission Santa Barbara to Nicholas Den and Daniel Hill and was certified on 8 April 1865. Set two is a copy of the grant by Governor Pio Pico to Richard S. Den for the lands of the MIssion Santa Barbara, dated 10 June 1846. Also included is a short note from Pio Pico, dated 9 June 1946 stating that Richard Den had permission to pass freely to and from the Department of the Californias with no impediment.
