Biography
A group of professional and amateur scientists started the Santa Barbara Natural History Society in 1876. It later evolved into the Museum of Comparative Oology and then the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.

Three archives boxes containing thirty years of weekly local history columns written by Mrs. Rouse for the Santa Barbara News-Press newspaper, approximately 1,500 articles. A fourth archives box contains indexes to the columns, autobiographical notes, a selection of columns on the Riviera district where Mrs. Rouse lived, and working notes and drafts of columns.
