Invoice of one trunk of silks shipped by Thompson on board Schooner Rover bound for coast of California; Cooper master and cosigner to Thompson for sales and returns; letter on inside of receipt instructs Cooper to dispose of silks in best advantage and to give proceeds in Spanish dollars to Thompson in Canton, China. (2 pages); A.B. Thompson to John Paty, March 1, 1836 – 1838. Account sheet for goods (mostly hides) and services (1 page) Invoice from A.B. Thompson on behalf of Hiram Covell, October 23, 1839, Santa Barbara. $1692 worth of cotton and beads. Payment received by bill of exchange on Stephen Reynolds, Oahu. (1 page); I.O.U. from A.B. Thompson to Thomas O. Larkin Monterey May 26, 1840, amount promised to pay to Larkin by July 15 and thereafter with interest. On verso are lists of payments to Larkin by Henry Fitch and Henry Naile that balance the note from Thompson. (3 pages); Letter A.B. Thompson to Captain Rodnick, San Pedro, December 26, 1843. Instructions for Rodnick to follow: pull in to Port San Diego and service Brig; detailed instructions on paint colors, etc; tallow and 50 hides on board; orders to give a letter to a Captain Fitch.
