Will of Anastacio Chaboya, 25 November 1852

Scope and Contents In 1844 Anastacio Chaboya received a land grant along the Cosumnes and San Joaquin rivers. Before he died in 1852, he filed a claim with the Land Commissioners office for the grant. Unbeknownst to him, Chaboya's wife had sold their land to Charles Weber. Chaboya therefore included in his will a wish to satisfy a debt of $5,000 to Weber, who had paid his wife for the land.
